Gráinne graduated from University College Dublin with a 1st Class Honours degree in English and Greek and Roman Civilization. She won a scholarship to study for a Masters in English and American Literature at the University of Delaware, USA.

Gráinne has worked in Dublin and London as well as in Aberdeen. She was an editor for Picador Books, an imprint of Pan Macmillan, and a conference producer for the Institute for International Research. She has been a teacher of English language, literature and academic writing, and has also worked as a freelance editor, mainly with PhD students from the University of Aberdeen.

Gráinne has volunteered for numerous schools and charities in Aberdeen including Airyhall School Board, Cults Academy PTA, Cults Scouts and Audio Describers Aberdeen. She joined NESMS in May 2013.

An alumnus of George Heriot's High School, Reg studied Hispanic Languages and Literature at Edinburgh University (MA 1964, MLitt 1966) before moving to St Andrews University and a career in academic librarianship. In 1988 he moved to Aberdeen to take up the post of University Librarian and during his time there was Project Director of Grampian Information, a member of the Scottish Library and Infomation Council, and Chairman of the United Kingdom Advisory Panel on Library and Information Planning.

Following early retirement in 1996 he worked first in Adult and Community Education and then from 2000 to 2004 as a Lecturer in Software Engineering and Office Technology at Aberdeen College (Dip. Comp. 1999). He joined NESMS in March 2004 but continued in-house and outreach teaching of computing and IT skills at the College on an occasional basis until 2014.

Originally from Dingwall, Kathleen first studied for an MA in French and Gaelic Studies at the University of Aberdeen before moving on to graduate Bachelor of Music from the Ian Tomlin Academy of Music at Edinburgh Napier University.

While studying for a Master of Music Degree at the University of Aberdeen she won a James Lobban Conducting Scholarship to work with Aberdeen Bach Choir, and was awarded both the Carnegie-Cameron Taught Postgraduate Bursary and a King's College Chapel Scholarship.

Currently a singing teacher, Kathleen is also studying for a PhD in Conducting and Vocal Technique.
