Other Lesson Fees

Our piano tutor Joseph Long is able to offer extra help if needed to students who may be preparing for Theory at ABRSM or Trinity Grade 5 or above at an hourly rate of £40, no matter what instrument they are studying.

He can also offer coaching if needed towards Aural or Sight-reading in practical exams at Grades 6-8. Joseph is also happy to offer advice on general musicianship, composition and other related disciplines for which no exam may be immediately forthcoming for the student – again at the hourly rate of £40.
Tuition in jazz as well as more traditional and/or popular styles can be provided if desired. To discuss your requirements, simply telephone to arrange an audition lesson.
Open days, master-classes, etc are organised from time to time. Fees will vary depending on duration, venue, level of teaching and numbers of participants.

Other Lesson Fees, &c

The normal duration of a single lesson is one hour but this can be extended or shortened by agreement with the pupil at the discretion of the tutor, fees being pro-rata to the hourly rate.
Our woodwind tutor Ros Coleman takes groups of up to four young beginners (aged 6-9) for skill building musicianship activities, and how to play the recorder. This is an opportunity for young children to be introduced to music and particularly useful should they want to take up another instrument at a later date. The fee is £10 for a 30-minute session, or £15 for 45 minutes where this is appropriate.
A répétiteur service is available by arrangement at £22 per hour.
